SA 8000 – Social Accountability

The most widely recognized global standard for managing human rights in the workplace is Social Accountability International’s SA 8000:2014. It is an auditable standard, suitable for organizations of all sizes anywhere in the world, and provides a framework for assuring all of your stakeholders that social accountability is being stewarded by your management.

SA 8000 measures the performance of organizations in eight key areas: child labor forced labor health and safety, freedom of association and collective bargaining, discrimination, disciplinary practices, working hours and remuneration. The 2014 version brings in the concept of risk identification and controls. It focuses on the management systems approach to improving the social accountability.

The systems put in place to achieve this certification are an ongoing process and involves the participation of employees to ensure systemic change. The benefits of adopting SA 8000 include improved staff morale, reliable business partnerships, enhanced competitiveness, less staff turnover and better worker-manager communication.

The aim of this training is to make the delegates understand the need for Social Accountability Management at Workplace and the requirements of the SA 8000:2014 Standard.

After completion of this course participants would be eligible to register for PECB SA 8000 Certification Exam (PECB Certification Fee Not Included)
