SAN Storage & Backup Administrator | Karachi, Pakistan

We are looking for an experienced SAN Storage & Backup Administrator to join our growing team.

Job Details

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and manage enterprise SAN Storage & Backup environments.
• Perform LUN provisioning, storage allocation, and capacity management.
• Configure and manage storage snapshots, disaster recovery (DR), replication, and data migration.
• Manage SAN fabrics, zoning, and firmware upgrades.
• Administer backup solutions and troubleshoot backup-related issues.
• Configure and support backups for VMware, Oracle, MySQL, and Microsoft SQL Server environments.
• Perform Linux administration, including installation, configuration, patching, user management, file systems, and basic performance monitoring.
• Monitor storage and backup system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization measures.
• Coordinate with vendors for technical support, maintenance, and issue resolution.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science (mandatory).
• 3–5 years of hands-on experience with SAN Storage & Backup solutions.
• Strong experience with enterprise storage platforms, including Dell EMC, IBM, Hitachi, HPE 3PAR, and Huawei.
• Hands-on experience with Veeam, Veritas, NetBackup, and Networker.
• Experience with Linux administration, including Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu, VMware, Hyper-V, or similar environments.
• Solid understanding of SAN and NAS technologies, including NFS, CIFS, Fibre Channel (FC), and iSCSI.
• Experience with LUN provisioning, storage snapshots, replication, disaster recovery, and storage migration.
• Hands-on experience with SAN fabric administration and firmware upgrades.
• Strong knowledge of backup administration and troubleshooting.
• Experience configuring backups for VMware, Oracle, MySQL, and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
• Banking industry experience will be an added advantage.
